Floor

The floors are BEAUTIFUL!!! We are so happy with them. We were debating re-finishing the kitchen floors since they were covered in tar paper and looked like re-finishing wouldn't be enough to help them. But we decided to go for it, knowing we wouldn't be happy if we had tile or fake wood.

They aren't perfect because they are the original floors, 105 years old, can you believe that? They have lots of nail holes, holes that were filled with the wrong color, nails, and little imperfections, but I think that is what makes them beautiful. We went with a satin finish and no stain, we really couldn't have asked for a better turn out. I cannot wait to finally have the walls painted, furniture in place and a working kitchen. This year has been extremely tough but we are almost there. YAY!!!

Kitchen

I know, Im in big trouble, I have not poticed pictures of the kitchen in forever. So Im gonna skip the chit chat and show you the progress. Since I last posted we have...installed all cabinets, had gas and water lines moved, installed new stove and microwave, drywalled the kitchen walls and ceiling, had the entire all the floors sanded and refinished. I am currently waiting on the countertop people to come make our template and then I can finish the sink plumbing, install the dishwasher, add toe kicks and molding to cabinets, paint and BE DONE!!!!!!

4th of July

I know this is a really late post but I wanted to share our 4th of July fun we had. Jacob and Katherine Spencer came to town and we went to Katherine's hometown: Chestertown, MD. It is on the eastern shore, one of the most beautiful places in Maryland and happens to be Arthurs favorite place on earth. Here are some pics and a video!
